US pastor Josh Sullivan kidnapped during South Africa sermon

Josh Sullivan, 45, was kidnapped on Thursday evening while delivering a sermon at the Fellowship Baptist Church Motherwell in Mambalaza Street, NU10, at about 7pm.

Gqeberha, South Africa – Josh Sullivan, a 45-year-old missionary from the United States, was abducted on Thursday evening while delivering a sermon at the Fellowship Baptist Church Motherwell at approximately 7 p.m.

Jeremy Hall, the family’s spokesperson, reported that Sullivan’s wife and children were present during the incident but escaped unharmed. Hall stated, “They knew his name. They came for him specifically.”

According to Capt Andre Beetge, a police spokesperson, four armed and masked men entered the church, stole two cellphones, and abducted Pastor Sullivan, fleeing in his vehicle. The silver Toyota Fortuner was recovered shortly afterward in Motherwell.

As of Friday, no ransom demands have been made, and the family remains in shock over the incident. “We are praying for his safe return,” Hall said.
