President Donald Trump has again warned that the United States will stop all aid coming to the Nigerian government if it does not put an end to the widespread violent killings in the country.

U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a severe warning to President Bola Tinubu, threatening an immediate cessation of all aid and possible military intervention over the persistent violent killings in Nigeria, according to PEOPLE GAZETTE reporting.

In a presidential broadcast posted online on Wednesday, Mr. Trump stated: “If the Nigerian government continues to allow the killings of Christians, the USA will immediately stop all aid and assistance to Nigeria.” The President further warned the Tinubu administration, saying, “We are going to do things to Nigeria that Nigeria is not going to be happy about.”

This follows an earlier warning and an order for the U.S. Department of War to prepare for a potential offensive invasion of northern Nigeria. Mr. Trump had previously re-designated Nigeria as a ‘country of particular concern’ and threatened that U.S. troops would “storm Nigeria, gun blazing, to smoke out and kill off the armed bandits and ‘Jihadists’ allegedly carrying out a genocide against Christians.” He explicitly instructed: “I am hereby instructing our Department of War to prepare for possible action. If we attack, it will be fast, vicious, and sweet, just like the terrorist thugs attack our CHERISHED Christians! WARNING: THE NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT BETTER MOVE FAST!”

With the order for the U.S. Department of War to prepare, an “unwarranted and unwelcome military operation has begun to take shape,” as reported by The New York Times, outlining three potential options for the attack: light, medium, and heavy.
