“Ignore detractors. Aluta continua” – MURIC to Oloyede

The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has condemned calls for the resignation of Professor Ishaq Oloyede, Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB), labelling them “callous, ridiculous and unpatriotic.”

In a statement signed by its Founder and Executive Director, Professor Ishaq Akintola, MURIC criticised the South East caucus of the House of Representatives and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), UNN branch, for urging Oloyede to step down over technical hitches during the 2025 UTME.

“Why does the South East desire to kill the goose that lays the golden egg?” MURIC queried, highlighting that Oloyede’s tenure has seen JAMB remit over N50 billion to federal coffers.

The group described the resignation calls as “an attempt to demonise transparency while idolising corruption.”

Addressing Oloyede directly, MURIC said: “Ignore detractors. PResignation will send the wrong signal to good Nigerians who consider you their model. Aluta continua, Victoria ascerta.”
