Legendary actor Val Kilmer has passed away at the age of 65. His daughter, Mercedes Kilmer, confirmed his death in Los Angeles on Tuesday to The New York Times.
Mercedes, whom he shared with ex-wife Joanne Whalley, stated that Kilmer died from pneumonia.
The acclaimed actor was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2014 and underwent radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and a tracheostomy—a procedure that permanently altered his voice.
Kilmer was best known for his role as Iceman in Top Gun (1986) and as Batman in Batman Forever (1995).
