The Governing Council of Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) has dismissed sexual

rassment allegations against Vice-Chancellor Prof. Abayomi Fasina, levelled by engineer Folasade Adebayo. After reviewing audio recordings and police reports, the council declared no evidence of harassment, instead condemning Adebayo for secretly recording the VC and “tarnishing the university’s image.” The council directed her to apologize within seven days, calling the recordings “tools for blackmail” to secure a promotion.

Despite the VC’s leaked admission of making “romantic advances” toward Adebayo, FUOYE’s council upheld its exoneration, citing lack of formal complaints. The council warned Fasina to be “circumspect” with subordinates but slammed Adebayo’s “preferential treatment” in promotions. It also announced new policies against “recording without consent” and cyber-bullying. Quotes from the audio reveal Fasina stating, *”The mistake I ever did… is that I espite several evidences, the Governing Council of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) has rejected the sexual harassment allegations levelled against the institution’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abayomi S. Fasina, by a senior engineer, Engr. Folasade Adebayo.  love advances to you.”
