Social media personalities VDM and Mr. Jollof will face legal consequences following a viral in-flight fight on an Abuja-bound plane, the NCAA has confirmed.

Social media activist Martins Otse, popularly known as Verydarkman (VDM), and comedian Freedom Atsepoyi, widely called Mr. Jollof, will face legal action after engaging in a physical fight aboard an Abuja-bound aircraft on Monday, according to a report from THE GUARDIAN.

The altercation, captured on video and circulating online, began as a heated verbal exchange before escalating into a full-blown scuffle. Cabin crew and passengers intervened as the two men traded blows inside the packed aircraft, leaving several passengers shocked.

Reacting to the incident, NCAA Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Michael Achimugu, stated on his official X account that the authority is awaiting a report from the airline but assured that both men will face the full weight of the law. “There is no tolerance for unruly behaviour aboard an aircraft. Both individuals will face the full strength of the law,” he said.

Achimugu added that NCAA officers in Asaba had been tasked to investigate the response of aviation security, pilots, and other personnel, and advise the airline on appropriate actions.

He further noted that while the NCAA does not have prosecutorial powers, it would recommend blacklisting the passengers and coordinating with the Attorney General and Inspector General of Police for prosecution.

He lamented the incident, emphasizing the irony that both men are partners in educating followers to avoid unruly conduct.

“The Authority has invested significant resources in educating passengers about the dangers of unruly behaviour and its consequences,” Achimugu said.
