VDM issued a seven-day ultimatum, warning of a larger protest if demands aren’t met. “We will invite students from the whole FCT,” he said.
Controversial influencer Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), on Monday staged a protest outside the FCT Minister’s gate, demanding an end to the 90-day strike by primary school teachers over non-implementation of the N70,000 minimum wage.
Dressed in school uniform alongside schoolchildren, VDM conducted a mock class outside the minister’s office. “S for Suegbe, T for Tinubu, W for Wike,” he recited, with pupils echoing.
Bitrus Garki, Mandate Secretary of Area Council Services, addressed protesters, blaming the strike on council chairmen but said the FCT was intervening: “This responsibility is largely the responsibility of the Area Councils.”
VDM issued a seven-day ultimatum, warning of a larger protest if demands aren’t met. “We will invite students from the whole FCT,” he said. He also promised a similar protest Tuesday over unpaid primary healthcare workers.
“We are not fighting Wike,” VDM added. “Let him just see, maybe he has forgotten.”
