Juventus are preparing a massive €80m move for Viktor Gyokeres, whose wage demands now pose a challenge for Manchester United.
Manchester United may be trailing in the race to sign Viktor Gyokeres as Juventus emerge with a concrete plan to secure the Swedish striker’s signature. According to Corriere dello Sport, the Italian giants are preparing an €80m offer—€70m upfront and €10m in bonuses—for the Sporting CP forward, who is seeking wages of €7.5m per year (€145k/week), a sharp increase from his current €2m salary.
Gyokeres, who scored 66 goals under United’s new manager Ruben Amorim at Sporting, is reportedly open to leaving under a “gentleman’s agreement” below his €100m release clause. Juventus’ financial muscle, boosted by expected sales of Vlahovic and Douglas Luiz, puts them ahead of United and Arsenal.
Meanwhile, Portuguese outlet A Bola confirms Coventry City still hold a 10% sell-on clause from Gyokeres’ transfer. Real Madrid, despite being offered the striker, reportedly turned him down due to cost and role concerns.
United have already signed Matheus Cunha and remain in pursuit of Bryan Mbeumo.
