At Polling Units 001, 002, and 003 at Nwikpa Primary School, PU 009 at Nkwo Market, and PU 013 at Amaokwu Hall, all in Umunze Ward I, Orumba South Local Government Area, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials arrived with election materials around 8:10 a.m.
Electorates were seen checking their names on voter lists, and some accredited voters had already started voting.
In Ekwulobia, Aguata Local Government Area, INEC officials arranged election materials by 8:15 a.m., and voters were briefed on proper procedures to avoid mistakes before voter registers were displayed.
Similar early voting and accreditation were reported at PUs in Igbo-Ukwu, including Obiuno Youth Centre and Amakpu Square, as well as at Eze Chima Primary School along Awka Road, Onitsha.
At All Saints Primary School, Onitsha, voting had not commenced as of 8:30 a.m. NAN noted a visible security presence at all polling units visited, aimed at ensuring a smooth voting process and maintaining order.
The early start reflects preparations to accommodate voters efficiently across the state.
