“Any candidate who writes a paper not assigned will bear the consequences,”
WAEC has announced Nigeria’s first-ever Computer-Based WASSCE (CB-WASSCE) for school candidates, set to begin this year with over 1.9 million students registered.
During a briefing in Lagos, WAEC Nigeria Head, Dr. Amos Dangut, said, “Two candidates will not have the same questions on each number,” highlighting the council’s effort to curb malpractice through test variation.
A total of 1,973,253 candidates from 23,554 schools will sit the exam, with 50.37% female participation, surpassing male candidates slightly.
The exam will cover 74 subjects and 196 papers, with over 26,000 teachers supervising.
WAEC has partnered with the Nigeria Police and state governments to ensure security, while cautioning against malpractice and the use of fraudulent websites.
Digital prep tools, including the WAEC E-Study and Konnect portals, have been launched to support candidates.
“Any candidate who writes a paper not assigned will bear the consequences,” Dangut warned.
Results will be released within 45 days; digital certificates will follow within 90 days.
