Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia has accused serving National Assembly politicians of orchestrating, funding, and harboring terrorists responsible for the state’s escalating violence. In a Friday interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Alia declared, “We are under siege,” revealing that intelligence reports—60–65% accurate—show attacks are “a directed, calibrated plan and then executed” rather than farmer-herder clashes.

An interim judicial panel report implicated “big names” in Abuja for instigating attacks, sheltering assailants in bushes, and funding their operations. Alia condemned this as “extremely unacceptable,” vowing to act upon receiving the final report next Tuesday or Wednesday . He described the violence as terrorism, with perpetrators striking at night and vanishing without trace.
