The White House said two planeloads of staff will accompany President Trump to Charlie Kirk’s funeral in Arizona, where 100,000 mourners are expected.
The White House will send “two planes full” of staff to Arizona for Charlie Kirk’s funeral, press secretary Karoline Leavitt said Saturday. She told Fox News the turnout reflects the late Turning Point USA founder’s influence at the highest levels of government.
Kirk, 31, was shot and killed during a campus event in Utah on Sept. 10. His body was flown to Phoenix on Air Force Two, accompanied by Vice President JD Vance, and taken to Hansen Mortuary Chapel.
The memorial, titled “Building a Legacy: Remembering Charlie Kirk”, will be held Sunday at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, home of the Arizona Cardinals. Officials expect at least 100,000 attendees, with remarks from President Trump, the vice president, the House speaker, and several Cabinet secretaries.
The Department of Homeland Security has assigned the service its highest-level security designation.
White House spokeswoman Taylor Rogers said Kirk’s assassination will only “grow bigger and stronger” the MAGA movement he helped lead.
