“T2 represents our renewed commitment to innovation, resilience, and a deepened focus on customer experience.”
Telecom operator 9mobile has rebranded to T2 as part of a sweeping transformation plan following its 2023 acquisition by Lighthouse Telecoms, led by investor Thomas Etuh.
The move, unveiled last weekend, marks a key phase in the company’s growth strategy, aligning with evolving digital demands. Since the takeover, T2 has overhauled its board, appointed new executives, and signed a landmark infrastructure-sharing deal with MTN Nigeria, boosting nationwide coverage and network resilience.
“This is not just a logo change, it’s a total evolution of who we are,” said CEO Obafemi Banigbe. “T2 represents our renewed commitment to innovation, resilience, and customer experience.”
Etuh described the rebrand as “a fresh start… growth, reawakening, and a new order,” thanking customers and regulators for their support.
Minister of Communications Bosun Tijani urged T2 to make the change “more than a new logo,” stressing service excellence and innovation for millions reliant on its network.
