Why Arsenal want Noni Madueke…

“I feel like I am strong on the offensive side… I just keep chipping away at those weaknesses,” Madueke said.

Arsenal have agreed personal terms with Chelsea winger Noni Madueke as they target more depth in their attacking options ahead of the 2025–26 season. The 23-year-old, known for his dribbling, directness, and pressing ability, fits the Gunners’ need for wide players to support Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli.

Last season, Arsenal’s Premier League and Champions League campaigns were affected by key injuries and fatigue due to a lack of rotation. Madueke’s profile could offer relief.

The winger scored seven league goals in 2024–25 and posted 0.42 non-penalty xG per 90 minutes—more than double his previous rate. “I feel like I am strong on the offensive side… I just (need to) keep chipping away at those weaknesses,” he said.

Madueke’s ambidextrous shooting, wide dribbling, and defensive pressing make him an appealing option for Mikel Arteta’s system. Talks with Chelsea over a potential €60m deal are expected next week, according to reports.
