The African Democratic Congress, ADC, has explained the delay in the formal membership of Peter Obi and Nasir El-Rufai, citing ongoing electoral processes in their former parties. Interim National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, said: “They were given the opportunity to finalise pending elections, including by-elections and the selection of governorship candidates, within their legacy parties.”
He dismissed claims of internal crisis and assured a level playing field for all aspirants. Meanwhile, ex-PDP Governors’ Forum DG, C.I.D Maduabum, joined the ADC, criticising PDP’s “moral decay.”
Obidient Movement members warned the ADC not to sell its presidential ticket: “Nobody is more qualified than Peter Obi,” said Splendour Oko Eze.
On Buhari’s legacy, ex-VoN DG, Osita Okechukwu, said: “None of them throughout their public service has either the moral compass or ever waged an anti-graft war against primitive accumulation.” He stressed that Buhari’s 12 million bloc votes cannot be inherited.
