“Are they Ghanaians?” Wike asks as he defends his children’s right to own land and denies allegations of land allocation in Maitama and Asokoro.

Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has denied allegations that he allocated land to his sons, asserting their right as Nigerian citizens to own property.

“Assuming, though not conceding, my children applied for land. Are they not citizens? Are they Ghanaians?” Wike said during a press briefing in Abuja on Thursday.

He described the claims — which alleged his sons received 3,822 hectares of land worth $6.45 billion — as baseless.

“First, calculate land in Maitama and Asokoro and tell me where you’d get 2,000 hectares,” he stated, challenging the evidence.

Wike claimed the smear campaign originated from Adamawa State. “I know where it is coming from. It is from Adamawa state,” he added.
