Lere Olayinka has mocked Atiku Abubakar’s resignation from the PDP, describing it as “good riddance to bad rubbish” and accusing the former VP of repeated betrayals of the party.
Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant to the FCT Minister on Public Communication and Social Media, has reacted to Atiku Abubakar’s resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), describing it as “good riddance to bad rubbish.”
Atiku, in a July 16 letter to his ward chairman in Adamawa, cited “irreconcilable differences” for quitting the PDP. Speaking on Sunrise Daily on Channels TV, Olayinka said: “Atiku Abubakar leaving the PDP, to me, is good riddance to bad rubbish… Since 2007, he has been leaving.”
He accused Atiku of consistently destabilising the PDP and described his new coalition under ADC as a “coalition of confusion.”
“The only thing that interests Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is to be president of Nigeria,” he said.
Olayinka criticised Atiku’s timing, saying he should have waited until after the national mourning for former President Muhammadu Buhari: “He could not even wait for the seven days mourning period… I don’t understand why somebody would be so desperate.”
