Hulk Hogan, the larger-than-life WWE star who helped globalize professional wrestling, has died at the age of 71.

Hulk Hogan, one of the most iconic figures in professional wrestling, has died at the age of 71, WWE confirmed on Thursday.

A “cardiac arrest” call was placed from Hogan’s home in Clearwater, Florida, and medics responded swiftly, TMZ reported. He was reportedly taken from the scene in an ambulance.

“WWE is saddened to learn WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan has passed away,” the company announced on X. “One of pop culture’s most recognizable figures, Hogan helped WWE achieve global recognition in the 1980s. WWE extends its condolences to Hogan’s family, friends, and fans.”

Born Terry Bollea in Augusta, Georgia, Hogan became a household name through his “Hulkamania” persona. He famously faced Andre the Giant at WrestleMania III and remained a key part of WWE’s rise to global prominence.

He is survived by his third wife, Sky Daily, and two children, Brooke and Nick, from his first marriage to Linda Hogan. Hogan last appeared on WWE’s Raw in January 2025.
