Armed individuals abducted a 22-year-old and injured another girl in Tashan Randa.
The Yobe State Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with the kidnapping of a 22-year-old woman in Tashan Randa village, Fika LGA.
Police Public Relations Officer, Dungus Abdulkarim, confirmed the arrests in a statement on Thursday, describing it as a major breakthrough.
“On May 6, 2025, armed individuals attacked the residence of a man, identified as Maikudi, abducted his daughter, and injured another girl in the process,” he said.
The kidnappers reportedly demanded N5 million in ransom. A swift police response, in collaboration with local hunters, led to the arrest of Waiti Bello (30) and Idrissa Adamu (35), while others remain at large.
A dane gun and a motorcycle were recovered from their hideout.
“The police command’s swift response and collaborative efforts with hunters have yielded positive results,” said Commissioner of Police, Emmanuel Ado.
He urged residents to support security efforts to maintain peace across the state.
