The Yoruba socio-political group Ìgbìmò Májékóbájé Ilé-Yorùbá accused President Bola Tinubu of worsening poverty and insecurity, urging Nigerians not to re-elect him.

The Yoruba socio-political group, Ìgbìmò Májékóbájé Ilé-Yorùbá, has accused President Bola Tinubu of failing Nigerians through “propaganda and deceit,” warning citizens not to repeat the “mistake” of electing him.

In a statement on Tuesday signed by Convener Olusola Badero and Home Director Princess Balogun, the union said Nigeria faces an unprecedented humanitarian crisis marked by “widespread hunger” and insecurity. It claimed harsh economic policies, including fuel subsidy removal and new taxes, have eroded Yoruba dignity.

“We cannot jeopardise the future of our people just because Tinubu, who is Yoruba, is confused and has run out of ideas,” the group said. It cited reports of married women engaging in casual relationships and youths turning to internet fraud out of desperation, while farmers abandon lands seized by terrorists.

The union added, “A government that cannot guarantee the safety of its people has no right to continue governing,” urging Nigerians to register to vote and reject Tinubu and his allies in future elections.
