A breakdown of ward-level results showed APC winning in four wards and PDP prevailing in two.
GUSAU — The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the Zamfara State House of Assembly by-election for Kaura-Namoda South Constituency inconclusive, despite the All Progressives Congress (APC) maintaining a clear lead over the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Announcing the results at the Kasuwar Daji Collation Centre on Saturday, August 16, 2025, INEC officials revealed that the APC secured 6,999 votes, while the PDP garnered 5,339 votes, giving the APC a lead of 1,660 votes.
A breakdown of ward-level results showed APC winning in four wards and PDP prevailing in two. APC’s strongest showing was in Dan Isah Ward with 1,887 votes, compared to PDP’s 592. PDP, however, outperformed the ruling party in Kurya Ward with 1,580 votes against APC’s 983.
INEC, however, declared the election inconclusive, citing the need for reruns in three polling units of Kyanbarawa Ward and two polling units in Saka Jiki Ward, where voting was disrupted.
A new date will be announced for the supplementary election.
