Zoho’s homegrown messaging platform Arattai has launched an Android TV app, a feature still unavailable on WhatsApp, reinforcing its push for accessibility and innovation in communication tools.
Zoho’s messaging app Arattai has rolled out native Android TV support, becoming one of the first chat platforms to do so—a move that even WhatsApp has yet to replicate in 2025. According to Financial Express, this update allows users to send and receive messages directly from their televisions, marking a notable leap in how messaging apps integrate across devices.
Launched by Indian tech firm Zoho Corporation, Arattai is marketed as a “Made-in-India” alternative to WhatsApp, designed with privacy, security, and simplicity at its core. The app offers essential communication features such as text messaging, audio and video calls, and media sharing while ensuring smooth performance on both high-end and budget devices.
The report highlighted that “Arattai is enjoying success and is ranked number one on the App Store. This is all thanks to the features it is providing that its rivals are not providing.” The article also noted, “WhatsApp currently does not offer an Android TV version of its app, yet the new Arattai is offering it to users.”
Zoho founder Sridhar Vembu emphasized that Arattai was engineered to work efficiently even in low-connectivity regions, enabling “everyone to access and use modern communication tools.”
