Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, has accused some Nigerian politicians and armed forces members of acting as informants and collaborators for Boko Haram insurgents.

Speaking Wednesday on News Central’s Breakfast Central, Zulum declared: “We have informants and collaborators within the Nigerian armed forces, within the politicians, and within the communities. What we shall do is to strengthen our intelligence and to deal with them ruthlessly.”

He criticised reliance on contracts and urged the federal government to depoliticise insecurity, adding, “In six months, we can put an end to this madness.”

Zulum acknowledged that while not all surrendered insurgents are fully reformed, “over 99% are doing well and are not participating in the ongoing terrorism.”

He emphasised combining kinetic and non-kinetic approaches, citing progress through social and economic programs.

Zulum also condemned inadequate military equipment and urged President Tinubu to act on genuine intelligence, stating, “The President should listen to the army.”
