The kidnapped APC Ward Chairman in Ose LGA, Ondo State, Nelson Adepoyigi, has been killed by his abductors despite receiving a N5 million ransom.
Nelson Adepoyigi, the Ward 5 Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State, has been murdered by kidnappers despite the payment of a N5 million ransom.
Adepoyigi was abducted last Monday outside his home in Ifon. His captors initially demanded N100 million, which was later reduced. Two residents who delivered the ransom were also seized, with the kidnappers demanding an additional N30 million before finally releasing the duo.
Sources from the community revealed that the APC chairman had been marked for death, allegedly by individuals behind his abduction.
Confirming the incident, Ose LGA Chairman Kolapo Ojo described the situation as a dire escalation of insecurity, warning that kidnappings had become disturbingly bold and frequent.
He urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities promptly, as security challenges in the area have now reached a “critical situation.” The tragic killing has sparked fear and outrage across the region.
