Comfort Emmason cleared as police drop Ibom Air assault charges

An Ikeja Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday discharged Miss Comfort Emmason of charges of unruly behaviour and assaulting flight crew aboard an Ibom Air aircraft from Uyo to Lagos on Monday.

Magistrate Olanrewaju Salami struck out the five-count charge after the police prosecution team applied to withdraw the case.

At the resumed hearing, prosecutor Oluwabunmi Adeitan told the court that new developments had necessitated the withdrawal. She tendered a formal application, which the court accepted.

Ibom Air had imposed a travel ban on her, while the Nigerian Bar Association condemned the exposure of her indecent parts in videos and offered her free legal support.
