Inmates credit Diddy’s “Free Game” class for teaching them planning and resilience.
As Sean “Diddy” Combs awaits sentencing, inmates at the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center have written letters praising the rapper for teaching them business skills through a program called “Free Game with Diddy.”
“The Free Game class with Mr. Combs has affected me in a good way and has impacted me because I’ve learned many things, like how to create a successful plan. And that plan has to be realistic,” inmate Quinton Davis said.
Another inmate, Charles Scruggs, added: “I was really appreciative to receive some knowledge of sort[s] to take back to the real world an[d] not have to think about doing something illegal. He taught me to come up with a plan.”
The letters have been submitted to Judge Arun Subramanian ahead of Combs’ October 3 sentencing for Mann Act convictions. While prosecutors are pressing for a lengthy prison term, Combs’ lawyers are seeking leniency, pointing to his impact on fellow inmates.
