Osun monarchs have given the Oluwo of Iwo 21 days to prove his assassination allegation against the Ooni of Ife or face legal action.
Some traditional rulers in Ife-North Local Government Area of Osun State have issued a 21-day ultimatum to the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, to prove his claim that the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, plotted to assassinate him.
Oluwo had in a viral video alleged that the Ooni used his ex-wife, Queen Channel, to attempt his assassination, adding that the feud between them would not end. The monarchs, under the umbrella of “Origbo Meje Obas,” condemned the statement as unbecoming of a traditional ruler.
Speaking in Edunabon, the Salu of Edunabon, Oba Adesoji Kehinde, accused the Oluwo of “misbehavior, insult, and gross disrespect to the sacred throne of Oduduwa.” He added that Oluwo’s frequent controversial remarks ridiculed Yoruba traditional leadership.
The monarchs emphasized the supremacy of the Ooni’s throne and warned, “We hereby give the Oluwo 21 days to substantiate his claims… failure to do so will leave us with no choice but to take legal action.”
