President Tinubu held a high-level security meeting with NSA Nuhu Ribadu and top service chiefs amid deadly attacks in Plateau, Benue, and Borno States.
TRIBUNE
President Bola Tinubu met with top security chiefs on Wednesday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, to address escalating violence in Plateau, Benue, and Borno States.
National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu said the session was “detailed and exhaustive,” with service chiefs updating the President on recent security developments. “He has insisted that enough is enough,” Ribadu stated, adding that military leaders have been deployed to key hotspots under new directives.
The meeting comes amid a wave of coordinated attacks that have left dozens dead and entire communities displaced. No arrests have been announced, fuelling public outrage.
Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia blamed the violence on foreign elements, while Ribadu stressed the need for community engagement, noting, “Many of these challenges are community-related.”
He also confirmed the recent spike in Borno was driven by IED attacks from insurgents. “These evil people try to make a statement,” he said.
